Graduation of Cohort 21

Our 21st Cohort graduated on Friday April 9th. They made some of the best final project meals we've ever had. Congratulations Cohort 21!

Field Trip! City Slicker Farms

We are elated to partner with City Slicker Farms in their farm tours program. Bringing each Kitchen of Champions class to these wonderful urban farms just around the corner adds so much value to our program. Trainees (many from West Oakland) gain access to local, organic, sustainable produce but also learn about the compost cycle, native produce, worm farms and how they can grow their own vegetables. Teaching our trainees where food comes from is a very important part of the program and we look forward to continued work with City Slicker Farms, for ever and ever.

Here are some photos from our field trip to CSF last week. Enjoy!

Field Trip! East Bay Restaurant Supply

Cohort #22 made a stop at East Bay Restaurant Supply. Here, they got a taste of the equipment used across many different levels of culinary operations. They saw everything from a gigantic Polar Bear to how we are invoiced by this wonderful establishment.
