Last Wednesday, some local folks gathered for another delicious lesson in using local organic produce and other nutritious items to create simple, tasty meals. Breakfast burritos and mixed greens anybody?

We are elated to partner with City Slicker Farms in their farm tours program. Bringing each Kitchen of Champions class to these wonderful urban farms just around the corner adds so much value to our program. Trainees (many from
West Oakland) gain access to local, organic, sustainable produce but also learn about the compost cycle, native produce, worm farms and how they can grow their own vegetables. Teaching our trainees where food comes from is a very important part of the program and we look forward to continued work with City Slicker Farms, for ever and ever.
